From Sunday, April 7, 2024, the first exhibition of the season will be on display in St. Marienkirche: "Love or Burden? – Construction Site Monument" is the name of the interactive and multimedia traveling exhibition of the German Foundation for Monument Protection (DSD). It takes an unusual look at the controversial topic of monument protection and is suitable for all age groups.

The exhibition will be opened on Saturday, April 6 at 6 p.m. with music and words of welcome.
The exhibition will then be on display in St. Marien until June 27, 2024.

The DSD's traveling exhibition provides answers to many questions, erroneous assumptions or common prejudices about monument protection that have never been addressed in this way before. It awakens the spirit of research and discovery in a playful way, as there are things to try out, touch and participate in at each of the six stations.

The DSD's multi-award-winning multimedia exhibition recently received another award for its innovative concept – the prestigious German Design Award. It also pays tribute to lesser-known cultural treasures and opens up a new perspective on the region. In Frankfurt (Oder), historical buildings such as the Heilandskapelle chapel, the old cinema and St. Mary's Church are among the monuments presented.

"We open people's eyes to buildings like these and let our visitors re-sort their list of favorite monuments on a voting carpet – that has an enormous aha effect," says Brigitte Golchert, DSD team leader for trade fairs and events.

The exhibition is barrier-free and is presented in German and English. The exhibition in the Bürgerkirche St. Marien is organized by the Kulturbüro Frankfurt (Oder) in cooperation with the Deutsche Stiftung Denkmalschutz.
