On Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at 11:15 a.m., "The school ghost – reading for children from 7 years" will take place in the Museum Viadrina.

It is a role reversal story in which schoolgirl Carola invents a ghost that suddenly comes to life and with which she swaps shapes.

Halina Muchow, museum educator of the Museum Viadrina, reads from the children's book by Peter Abraham, which was published in 1978 by Kinderbuch Verlag Berlin (GDR).

The event is held as part of the current special exhibition "Leseland DDR". Participation is free of charge.

In addition, the Viadrina Museum can be visited on November 1 from 11:00 a.m. all day free of charge.

It offers the opportunity to learn during a 60-minute guided tour selected focal points of Frankfurt's urban history and thus dive into the past as a Hanseatic and university city. For this purpose, Dr. Sonja Michaels, research associate of the museum, invites all interested parties to the Junkerhaus at 3:30 p.m.

In addition, the current "Leseland DDR" can be visited. The show, published by the Federal Foundation for Reappraisal and curated by Dr. Stefan Wolle, tells of people who did not want to be dictated their reading and stood in line for rare books.
