Participation in the artist competition open until January 3
The next edition of the HANSEartWORKS exhibition will be held as part of the 44th International City Day of the New Hanseatic League, which will take place in Gdansk from June 13 to 16, 2024. The presentation is entitled "Made in Hansa".
The artistic works will be shown from 14 to 30 June 2024 in ŁAŹNIA 1, the Center for Contemporary Art, i.e. in a cultural institution that has been showing contemporary art in its most avant-garde manifestations for more than 20 years and is located in the buildings of the former city baths in Dolne Miasto and in Nowy Port.
The aim of the competition is to bring together artists from the cities of the New Hanseatic League and initiate an artistic discussion about the vision of their future.
The main theme of the Gdańsk exhibition will be the space of the Hanseatic cities and the way it is narrated. What characterizes the cities that make up the modern Hanseatic League? How does the modern Hanseatic League differ from the historical union? What could be a tourist souvenir from the Hanseatic cities?
