He is considered a thought leader for German-Polish relations and a moral authority in Poland: the historian, publicist and Polish Foreign Minister Władysław Bartoszewski (1922–2015). From Friday, November 15, visitors to the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) can get to know him anew from an entertaining perspective. The exhibition "Władysław Bartoszewski in caricatures and bon mots" features caricatures by well-known Polish artists and graphic designers, accompanied by quotes from Bartoszewski.

On Friday, November 15, 10.30 a.m., the exhibition will be opened during a public vernissage; curator Dr. Małgorzata Preisner-Stokłosa will guide visitors through the exhibition.

Interested parties are cordially invited to visit the exhibition in front of the University Library in the Viadrina main building, Große Scharrnstraße 59, Frankfurt (Oder) during opening hours (Monday to Friday: 6.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m.; Saturday: 8.30 a.m. to 7.00 p.m.; Sunday: 10.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m.).

The exhibition was created in the Pan-Tadeusz Museum Ossoliński National Library in Wrocław and includes drawings and prints by well-known artists such as Jacek Fedorowicz, Witold Mysyrowicz, Jacek Frankowski, Maciej Szproch, Grzegorz Szumowski, Przemysław Truściński and Tomasz Broda. Each work is accompanied by quotations from statements, interviews and speeches by Władysław Bartoszewski. Thanks to the support of the Foundation for German-Polish Cooperation, the Polish texts were translated into German for the exhibition at the European University Viadrina.

The exhibition at the Viadrina is organized by the Karl Dedecius Foundation and the Viadrina Center of Ukrainian and Polish Studies. The opening will take place following this year's Bartoszewski Promemoria symposium.
