Digital skills, creative thinking and resilience - giving these future skills more space and time in the curriculum is the aim of the Future Skills Week from Monday, November 27 to Friday, December 1 at the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder).

With more than 30 seminars, lectures, workshops and discussions, Viadrina is promoting its students and employees in key skills relevant to the future. The topics range from artificial intelligence to digital well-being and innovative forms of work to creative podcasts.

"Good teaching is not about passing on traditional knowledge in traditional courses; good teaching is about using innovative teaching and learning formats to impart the skills that students need to shape a better future," says Prof. Dr. Christoph Brömmelmeyer, Vice President for Teaching and Learning, emphasizing the importance of Future Skills Week. Anja Voigt, Head of the Viadrina Center for Teaching and Learning, adds: "Today more than ever, universities have a responsibility to enable students to actively shape change, but they still have a lot to learn themselves. The Future Skills discourse can provide all university stakeholders with ideas and impetus to explore new formats, processes and spaces in teaching and learning."

The action week will open with a public panel discussion on Monday, November 27, 2023 at 1 p.m. in the foyer of the Gräfin-Dönhoff building, Europaplatz 1.
