122nd "Der Blaue Mittwoch" at the Kleist Forum with silent film music, improv theater and impressive artistry

For the 122nd time, cabaret artist Arnulf Rating and the Maulhelden team will present the weirdest show in town on January 14 at Frankfurt's Kleist Forum: from 7:30 p.m., "Der Blaue Mittwoch" will offer an insight into what is raging on stage or flourishing in secret in the Berlin and Brandenburg scene.

Guests include singer-songwriter Barbara Thalheim and pianist Stephan Graf von Bothmer, who sets silent films to music live on the grand piano in perfect sync. The actors and actresses from Theatersport create new worlds before the eyes of the audience – as improvisational theater on demand. Diabolo master Gilles Le Loech demonstrates his skills in an impressive juggling act to the sounds of the waltz, while Caroline Schroeck performs top-class artistry at dizzying heights. The band of the evening is the Berlin Vocaphonicer, who have dedicated themselves to the 1920s. In addition to popular songs, they also perform lesser-known couplets and cabaret songs with ironic, biting lyrics.
