On Friday, April 26, 2024 at 3:30 p.m., the demonstration of historical musical instruments with Peter Hellert, Dr. Karl-Konrad Tschäpe and Halina Muchow will take place in the Museum Viadrina (Kurfürstensaal).

The event is aimed at children aged 10 and over, young people and adults.

The Museum Viadrina has a special collection to preserve and care for, in addition to other holdings: the Reka collection of historical musical instruments. This includes European and non-European instruments from the 18th to the 20th century, rarities and instruments from Frankfurt's musical instrument makers such as Altrichter (wind instruments), Gruss (piano factory) and Sauer (organ building).

Peter Hellert has now selected some of these musical instruments and will present and demonstrate them together with Dr. Karl-Konrad Tschäpe and Halina Muchow.

Peter Hellert worked as a sound engineer for the Kleist Theater for forty years. For some time now, he has been supporting the Viadrina Museum and bringing the historical instruments of the Reka collection back to life.
