Public viewing without annoying presenters can be experienced at the start of the European Football Championship on June 14 in Frankfurt's Kleist Forum. Stephan Graf von Bothmer, Germany's most successful silent film pianist, will be commentating the opening game between the German national team and Scotland live on the grand piano.
The "soccer concert" will completely dispense with the usual sports commentators and reporters' phrases. Instead, the pianist finds the right notes for fouls, offside, banana flanks and overhead kicks, goal celebrations, video decisions, victories and defeats. A unique show with dramatic chords and rousing dribbling staccato.
Several thousand guests have already raved at the shows that Stephan Graf von Bothmer has performed at European and World Championships. SKY Sport News broadcast one half live, the evening show, ZDF-Frühstücksfernsehen and numerous other national and international TV and radio stations reported. "Regardless of the outcome of the game, you have witnessed a work of art," wrote the Berliner Morgenpost, for example.
Admission is free.
