Wim Jonas Niemand from Neuenhagen and Friederike Schick from Altlandsberg accepted an unusual invitation to perform at the Nikolaisaal Potsdam on December 6. As a young piano duo, they were able to perform a piano concert accompanied by the Brandenburg State Orchestra Frankfurt in the state capital.
Wim Jonas took on the primo part in the concert and Friederike the secondo part. The occasion was a large charity event for the "Familie in Not" foundation, which was once founded by Regine Hildebrandt.
Chih-Yin Huang-Niemand from the Kreismusikschule, as the supervising piano teacher, had selected Carl Czerny's Concerto for Piano Four Hands and Orchestra for this debut. In the past, Wim Jonas and Friederike have already gained a lot of experience on the big concert stages and as a duo they were awarded the special prize of the Minister President Dr. Dietmar Woidke at "Jugend musiziert". Nevertheless, playing with the state orchestra was an absolutely new and wonderful challenge for Friederike and Wim Jonas.
We congratulate both pupils of the district music school on their brilliant performance and hope to hear more from the exceptional talents from Märkisch-Oderland soon.
