A pitch-black comedy about faith in the good, human weaknesses, divine arbitrariness and the power of self-deception can be seen on February 17 and 18 at Frankfurt's Kleist Forum. "Adam's Apples" is the musical version of the 2005 Danish feature film of the same name, staged by director Reinhard Simon with the ensemble of the Uckermärkische Bühnen Schwedt and a specially assembled project choir.

Under the eponymous apple tree, Ivan, a pastor convinced of the good, and Adam, a brutal neo-Nazi, argue about the right path. Until the bizarre happy ending, humor and drama are so closely intertwined that the audience is left laughing at times. A production between absurdity and horror, with quirky characters, snappy songs, wonderfully absurd situations, firearms and apple pie.
