On the square between the Südringcenter, the Astrid Lindgren Elementary School and the Eltern-Kind-Zentrum Süd is the book telephone booth, a project of the Stadtteilkonferenz Süd. Based on the motto "Take a book and bring a book", children and young people can pick up and exchange books here. The project was funded through the city of Frankfurt (Oder) as part of the round table "Future and educational opportunities for children - Active against child poverty Frankfurt (Oder)".

On Friday, April 21, 2023 invites the district conference South on the occasion of the two-year anniversary of the book telephone booth now to the book festival on the city square South.

Children and adults can try their hand at giant crossword puzzles and participatory fairy tales from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. There will be reading aloud, crafts and singing. Those who want to experience what blue bots, gaga ball and kamishibai are all about can find out on the spot. There will be children's books, bookmarks and cotton candy. All offers are free of charge.

The informal association of institutions, housing companies and neighborhoods from the social area takes care of concerns in the district south and networks offers with each other. A highlight this year is the book festival.
