Can singing and dancing cats tell more than they already did in Andrew Lloyd Webber's long-running hit "Cats"? The musical theater combo glanz&krawall, known for their anarchic and rousing adaptations of classical opera and drama, has taken on the hit musical and reinterpreted it as "CATS of FRANKFURT": Instead of hoping for their rebirth, the cats ask topical questions: Who is worth something in this society? What is sorted out unjustly and what scrap is kept although it urgently needs to be disposed of? To see the junkyard musical on 16 and 17 June as an open-air spectacle on the outdoor area of the Kamea Club.

"CATS of FRANKFURT" breaks with enthusiasm both the conventions of the commercial musical business and those of classical musical theater. On singing, sophisticated choreographies and music must not be renounced nevertheless. The latter was even completely newly composed. The result is a bow to all the big and small animals that defy the neoliberal mania for order by never allowing themselves to be completely controlled. A boon for all who have had enough of perfectionism and meritocracy.
