On June 9, 2024, the European and local elections will take place in Frankfurt (Oder). In addition to the European Parliament and the city council, the local councils of the nine districts will also be elected.

For the proper conduct of the elections, the electoral office of the city of Frankfurt (Oder) is looking for electoral assistants who would like to volunteer in one of the 55 electoral boards at a local polling station or in one of the 12 postal voting boards.

Elections are the basis of democracy. It thrives on the participation of citizens in the political process.

A total of around 600 volunteers are needed for the 55 polling stations and 12 postal voting stations.
For their voluntary support, election assistants receive a refreshment allowance of between 50.00 euros and 70.00 euros.

Anybody who is eligible to vote in the respective elections can provide support.

The helpers ensure that the polling stations are set up, opened and closed and that the votes are counted after the polling stations have closed. As a rule, the deployment time begins at around 7.00 a.m.

In order to prepare the polling assistants for their tasks in the best possible way, the respective election supervisors are trained by the electoral office on an afternoon before the election Sunday.
