In summer 2024, the railroad theater Das Letzte Kleinod will go on tour with the performance HOTEL LUNIK about a HO hotel. The building was once the best hotel in Eisenhüttenstadt, but then stood empty for almost 30 years and is representative of the history of many HO hotels. The memories of former employees and guests are brought back to life like a journey through time and tell of encounters between East and West in an authentic way and with objects from the hotel's heyday.

For the performances in Frankfurt (Oder), the theater is still looking for reports from contemporary witnesses who have a connection to one of the Frankfurt HO hotels or even to HOTEL EINHEIT. To do so, please contact Juliane Lenssen on 0175 51 00 681.

The ninth co-production of the theater Das Letzte Kleinod with the Kleist Forum will go on tour from August 8 in furnished railroad carriages. The performances are based on interviews with many contemporary witnesses (written and directed by Jens-Erwin Siemssen) and allow the audience to experience the stories from the hotel in and in front of the train, which are representative of an entire period of the shared past. Using objects and material from the Museum Utopie und Alltag, the actors bring the experiences to life.

The artist group Das Letzte Kleinod stages places and their stories. The documentary performances deal with flight, migration, colonialism, research and wars – past and present.

The international ensemble received the Sustainability Award of the Lower Saxony Foundation (2022), the Weltenbauer Award of the German Theatertechnische Gesellschaft (2022), the Innovation Award Socioculture (2020) and the Federal Theater Award (2016).
