Bundling the advisory skills of the state of Brandenburg and the Federal Employment Agency –
Together for employers and employees: free, neutral and competent

On May 2, 2024, the networked further training advice service for companies and employees in Brandenburg will be available online at https://weiterbildung-brandenburg.de. Under the umbrella of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor and Energy (MWAE), Brandenburg's five employment agencies, the Brandenburg Economic Development Corporation (WFBB) and the Brandenburg Future Center are offering a joint advice portal, thereby pooling their expertise. Interested companies and employees can use a contact form on the homepage to request personal advice within 48 hours.

Through this portal, the partners want to attract more companies and employees to further vocational training. This gives companies more qualified specialists, competitive advantages and employee loyalty. Employees will be supported in their career development and in the process of lifelong learning.

"The portal will make a significant contribution to supporting company and individual educational decisions," says Jörg Steinbach, Minister for Economic Affairs, Labor and Energy of the State of Brandenburg. "Qualified employees contribute to innovation and productivity, which will give our companies in Brandenburg a competitive advantage. By adapting to the changing labor market, employees can increase their job security."

"Demographic trends in Germany show an ageing population and a decline in the labor force, which further increases the need for qualified specialists. Companies and employees will therefore benefit equally if they invest in further vocational training in order to effectively meet the challenges of the labor market," says Dr. Ramona Schröder, Chairwoman of the Management Board of the Berlin-Brandenburg Regional Directorate of the Federal Employment Agency. "With the new online portal, we are working with our partners to offer tailor-made and networked advice for companies and employees in Brandenburg on the subject of further training."

"More and more Brandenburg companies are taking advantage of the opportunity to expand their competitive position and position themselves for the future through in-company training. Tailored further training is also a decisive success factor for the employment and integration of international specialists and workers. The WFBB Work - Skilled Workers and Qualification team at the Brandenburg Economic Development Agency advises companies on in-company training. It supports companies in the development of a further training concept as well as in the search for suitable training courses or financial support. Thanks to the close networking on the platform with the employer services of the Brandenburg agencies, we can pool our expertise to provide the best possible offer," says Dr. Steffen Kammradt, Managing Director of the WFBB.

"Further training is a key to success in the modern and future world of work. For example, it enables companies and their employees to develop new processes, working methods and skills and to deal with new (digital) challenges. As the Future Center Brandenburg 2.0, we support the prerequisites for and implementation of digital changes and innovations in companies," adds the head of the Brandenburg Future Center Denise Gramß.
