Lord Mayor René Wilke and Head of the Land Registry and Surveying Office Nico Schmidt at the appointment as City Surveying Director © Stadt Frankfurt (Oder)

The head of the land registry and surveying office of the city of Frankfurt (Oder), Nico Schmidt, has now been appointed city surveying director and civil servant for life. The corresponding certificate was handed over by Lord Mayor René Wilke during the last departmental meeting.

Dr. André-Benedict Prusa, Head of Urban Development, Construction and Environment for the City of Frankfurt (Oder): "The Land Registry and Surveying Office is rarely in the public eye. Wrongly, in my opinion. The work carried out there by Nico Schmidt and his dedicated team is fundamental to many areas of our lives and business. I am particularly pleased that Nico Schmidt has now received this award because this highly competent surveying engineer not only manages the present with his responsible work, but also actively and reliably helps to shape the future of the city, for example with regard to the challenges that continue to grow due to increasing digitalization."
